The Boss GT-1000 Version 3 is a Bass Player's New Best Friend
The flagship Boss GT-1000 has a free Firmware update which brings brand-new functionality to bass players.
The flagship GT-1000 Guitar Effects Processor has just been updated to version 3. This free Firmware upgrade adds support for bass guitarists, bringing the same pro-grade functionality that was previously only available to guitar players. The new upgrade includes three AIRD bass preamps, 13 new effects, and new pedalboard modes for even more creative possibilities.
Free Upgrade for Bass and Guitar
The Boss GT-1000 v3 Firmware adds three AIRD bass preamps and a brand-new selection of bass-tuned effects. With nineteen effects including an MDP compressor, overdrives/distortions, touch wah, flange, and more, the GT-1000 v3 caters for every bass guitarist requirement. The three new preamps - NATURAL, X-DRIVE BASS, and SVT BASS - are built to cover any genre.
It's not all just for bass players either; the new V3 update adds Manual and Pedalboard modes, plus real-time effects control. Manual mode allows musicians to set any amp or effect on/off with its own footswitch, while Pedalboard mode lets you perform with a traditional stomp box layout.
An additional 13 AIRD outputs (2 bass-specific) mean guitarists and bassists can achieve consistent tone, whether connected to an amp input, effects return, PA mixer, or recording interface.
GT-1000 Capabilities - Now for Bass Guitarists Too
The GT-1000 received universal acclaim for its class-leading sound and feel. As an all-encompassing modelling system, the GT-1000 delivers high-fidelity 32-bit / 96kHz audio via Boss's ground-breaking AIRD technology. Boss aimed to recreate the sound and feel of a complete guitar rig, recorded in a pro studio. The result is a stunningly versatile tool for live performance and studio recording in a super compact housing.
In previous generations, bass guitarists sought the powerful Boss GT-10B as their go-to all-in-one floorboard. With the new Version 3 GT-1000, bassists now have access to the most current technology from in the Boss family. This includes new AIRD Outputs, providing bassists with the ability to connect to any type of audio device with optimised audio.
The GT-1000 Version 3 update is available as a free download. You can install it by connecting the GT-1000 to a Mac or Windows computer via USB. Now is the perfect time for bass players to get the versatile rig they always dreamed of with the GT-1000.
