Akai MPC 2.10 update further reaffirms you can truly stand alone with an MPC

Akai Professional isn’t one to hold back with new MPC updates, and MPC 2.10 is no exception. Coming to the Akai MPC X, MPC Live II, MPC One and MPC Standalone software, MPC 2.10 is something of a monster. Featuring 14(!) new plugins combining a mix of virtual instruments and insert effects, your MPC unit has never been this powerful before.

Standalone vocal plugin power

Have you ever been unable to really translate something vocally into your MPC? Well, the MPC 2.10 update starts with the new AIR Vocal Suite.

For the first time ever, MPC users now have a dedicated set of plugins to record and produce the perfect vocal recordings, right from the standalone MPC devices. AIR Vocal Tuner, the first-ever vocal tuner for standalone, enables you to dial in vocal tracks with powerful pitch correction. Whether you need a subtle fix for a pitchy note, or a modern automatically-tuned vocal sound, AIR Vocal Tuner is a powerful tool for vocal production.

Loading the AIR Vocal Doubler plugin adds dimension and thickness to any vocal tracks. Quickly achieve a layered sound, or a wide stereo spread for bigger, more present vocals that cut through the mix. When one voice isn’t cutting it, the AIR Vocal Harmonizer plugin will instantly create rich, layered harmonies. Transform single voice tracks into full 4-part vocal backing sections without having to record, edit or stack multiple takes - keeping you locked in the creative seat without interruption.

Four world-class instrument plugins

Let’s jump right into this. MPC 2.10 gives your MPC X, MPC Live II, MPC One, and MPC desktop software four world-class instrument plugins, totally free.

AIR Hype plugin from the Akai Pro FORCE transfers to the MPC, with over 1,500 presets including pianos, analogue synths, Wavetable Pads, leads, FM plucked instruments and more. Creating custom signature sounds is easy with detailed macro controls to modify and save a wide range of parameters from the vibrant stock preset library.

AIR Mellotron is a recreation of the classic tape-based keyboard machine, equally suited to a wide variety of modern sounds. An iconic sound, now readily available on an iconic piece of machinery. With a vibrant GUI, you can dial in intricate textures and tones never before imaginable, right on the MPC.

Then there’s AIR Solina; a software plugin version of the legendary string machine. Play a single synth part, or layer multiple tones for a massively rich and full ensemble.

Both the Mellotron and Solina include the new built-in AIR Flavor effects panel, allowing you to add a wide variety of LoFi textures to your carefully curated synth sounds. Experiment with radio or phone simulations, distortion, tape flutter and more for adding new character into your sounds.

Last but not least, MPC 2.10 adds the WayOutWare Odyssey plugin instrument - a faithful, accurate, and authentic recreation of the all-time favourite analogue duophonic synth. Odyssey was created using circuit-modelled oscillators and filters. Plus, it features a fully automated GUI. This versatile synth plugin completes the MPC synth engine collection, now including an array of 8 powerful plugin instruments.

Insert effects? How about another seven?

Yes, you read that correctly. Alongside four world-class instrument plugins, MPC 2.10 also adds seven new Insert Effects plugins: Half Speed, Stutter, Diode Clipper, AIR Diffuser Delay, Granulator, Sample Delay and AIR Limiter – these lend themselves particularly well to the MPC standalone mastering capabilities.

Why not add ten new Drum Pad Effects into the mix for good measure too? Mangle and distort audio in a myriad of ways – it’s a truly unmatched arsenal of standalone tools to fuel your creativity and your music creation.

More effects, more connections, more power – the centre point of your studio

Your MPC has no doubt become an essential tool for your studio, but standalone MPC now supports USB Class Compliant audio interface devices too!

Connect any eligible audio interface and enjoy up to 32-Inputs and 32-Outputs to really make the MPC the heart of your rig. Increase your input count to record more tracks on your MPC One or expand the outputs of your MPC Live II and MPC X to route audio into your favourite analogue outboard gear, all via a single USB cable!
