About ROLI

ROLI is a London-based company founded in 2009 by the American-born musician, designer and entrepreneur Roland Lamb.

ROLI's first product was the ground-breaking Seaboard - a keyboard-like instrument with a silicon "keywave" surface allowing users to glide freely between notes and alter the timbre with finger-pressure alone. This revolutionary device allowed traditional keyboard players to easily apply vibrato, note bends, and even glissando between notes, without the need for pitch wheels.

The Seaboard was followed up by the Seaboard RISE - a USB and battery-powered MIDI controller utilising the same silicone surface as the Seaboard, albeit in a smaller platform.

The Blocks system is the latest innovation from ROLI. Blocks is an ultra-compact and highly portable music surface with a unique layout and design. It allows users to create everything from drum beats to melodies by daisy-chaining expansion blocks together: the Seaboard Block is a 24-keywave, two-octave playing surface and the Lightpad Block M is a 225-keywave, illuminated control surface. ROLI also offers the Live Block, Loop Block, and the Touch Block for additional live performance features.
