Peter Hook adds further Joy Division tribute gig
Bass guitar player Peter Hook has announced he is to perform a second Joy Division tribute concert later this month.
Hook, along with his band The Light, will run through Joy Division's album Unknown Pleasures in its entirety, as part of the commemorations of Ian Curtis' death.
It will be 30 years since the singer's suicide when the show takes place.
Hook, who went on to be the bass guitar player for New Order following Ian Curtis' death, has decided to play a second show, on May 19th 2010, after the first date sold out.
Guests including Happy Mondays singer Rowetta are expected to sing Curtis' lyrics at the show, which will take place at Manchester's FAC251 venue.
Hook recently stated that he does not care if no fans turn up to the show.
He said: "It's 30 years since Joy Division and I want to celebrate the music we made together."Posted on 4 May 2010 14:50 to category : Band / Celebrity News
