Paul McCartney to play 100 Club
Beatles star Paul McCartney is to play a special gig at the 100 Club in London later this week.
The bass guitar player is to appear at the intimate venue on Friday December 17th where he will perform a stripped-down set in front of fans lucky enough to get their hands on tickets for the occasion.
It will be the smallest number of people McCartney has played in front of since his performance at the Cavern Club in Liverpool in 1999.
The Beatles star said the show will provide him with a "different kind of challenge" to performing in stadiums and arenas.
"I'm looking forward to being able to interact with fans on a face-to-face basis, not to mention the smell of sweat and beer," said the bass guitar player.
The 100 Club has been the venue for many famous performances down the years, with the likes of The Clash, The Rolling Stones, Oasis and The White Stripes all taking to the stage over the years.
McCartney is to perform two other gigs in England before Christmas, playing at the Hammersmith Apollo on December 18th and the O2 Academy in Liverpool on December 20th.
