Solid State Logic SSL2 USB Audio Interface

Solid State Logic (SSL) has just unveiled its first ever dedicated audio interfaces in advance of The NAMM Show 2020. Released as part of the Personal Studio range, the SSL 2 and SSL 2 are USB-powered interfaces with class-leading preamps, bundled plugins, and circuitry that takes influence from classic SSL consoles.

SSL is world-renowned for its iconic mixing consoles, outboard gear, and software processing tools. The SSL 2 and SSL 2 2-channel audio interfaces are part of the new “Personal Studio” range - designed to give singers, songwriters, musicians, and producers more accessible access to SSL’s class-leading technology.

Each interface features 2 analog microphone preamps and pristine 24-bit/192kHz conversion. They also feature a special “Legacy 4K” mode, which gives your input sources some additional analog character and sparkle, inspired by the legendary SSL 4000 series console.

The SSL Production Pack is bundled with these new devices, giving users a premium software package of SSL’s own studio-grade Native plugins.

The SSL 2 interface is the device for solo musicians and producers. As well as the two premium mic preamps and Legacy 4K mode, it includes a single high-grade headphone output, monitor mix control for low-latency monitoring, and balanced monitor outputs.

The SSL 2 is designed for collaborative work and adds an extra headphone output with independent monitor mix, MIDI I/O, and un-balanced outputs for DJ Mixers.

Each device includes pro-studio quality Neutrik connectors and Alps pots, in combination with premium 24-bit/192kHz conversion for the ultimate in high-fidelity audio.

As Andy Jackson, SSL’s Studio Product Manager says, “We focused on developing the best sounding and performing audio interfaces at this price point, and then raising the bar again with features and add-ons that make a significant difference when creating…We are fortunate to have a phenomenal heritage of product, technology and successful artists to draw on during development, so if you’re starting out in recording music, why wouldn’t you start with the best?”
