NAMM 2019 | Epiphone Launches the DC Pro Double Cutaway
Epiphone releases a new double cutaway guitar for 2019 - the DC Pro.
Epiphone's brand-new DC Pro has been announced and is ready to debut at NAMM 2019. Taking many design touches from the Epiphone Les Paul family, the new DC Pro joins the unique range of Epiphone Designer Guitars and features a raft of modern specifications, with a distinct second cutaway added to the classic Les Paul formula.
The DC Pro reminds us of the rare double-cutaway Gibson Les Paul available in the mid-'90s. As a modern take on the classic Epiphone Del Ray Double Cut Design, the DC Pro Offers players a super-comfortable body, enhanced with a contoured "back body scarf" (tummy cut).
The DC Pro features a great blend of vintage and modern features. While it offers the looks and the sound of a vintage guitar, the modern electronics provide excellent versatility for contemporary players.
The DC Pro is loaded with ProBucker humbuckers, featuring alnico II magnets to recreate the sound of '50s-era "PAF-style" pickups. When combined with a classic mahogany-body/mahogany-neck combination, the result is a thick and resonant, vintage-style tone with a highly versatile tonal range; perfect for blues, classic rock, and much more.
Epiphone has included modern electronics to enhance the versatility of this guitar even further. Coil-tapping brings the potential for single-coil sounds while a treble bleed circuit ensures you won't suffer any loss of clarity when rolling down the volume control; ideal for players who like to shape their tone with the guitar controls as much as the amp they are plugged into.
Built for Pro Performance
Loaded with Grover 18:1 tuners and LockTone Tune-0-matic bridge, the DC Pro should offer stable tuning for professional performance, while the range of paint finishes on top of a stunning AAA maple veneer top will be sure to get you noticed. Epiphone has also included pre-fitted strap locks, reflecting their intention to create the DC Pro as the ultimate gigging guitar.
A New Alternative
With its distinct design and versatile sounds, the Epiphone DC Pro should prove to be a popular choice. A blend of vintage Les Paul tones, versatile electronics, and subtly-different aesthetics could make this the ideal 'alternative' Les Paul.
