NAMM 2018: Epiphone's new Slash Signature Guitar Outfit - the Hand-Signed Les Paul Plustop Pro
The new Epiphone Ltd Ed Slash Les Paul Standard PRO Outfit is this year's new guitar from Epiphone with custom specifications from Slash. It is available as a collectable outfit with case, certificate of authenticity and accessories. This outfit is limited to 100 units worldwide and is the first model to be hand-signed by Slash himself. Epiphone also has the - non-signed - guitar available for those who miss out on the limited edition complete outfit: Epiphone Ltd Ed Slash Les Paul Standard PRO, Anaconda Burst.
The Slash Signature Plustop Pro Les Paul features a AAA Flame Maple Veneer top and is finished in a distinctive Anaconda Burst - giving a nod to one of the most iconic Guns' n' Roses' songs, 'Welcome to the Jungle'.
The guitar includes custom Seymour Duncan "Slash" humbuckers, Spraque "Orange Drop" capacitors, and an ebony fingerboard. The guitar also has traditional 9-hole weight relief for a more manageable weight on stage and a carved maple cap with classic mahogany body combination for those thick rock tones that Slash is known for.
Slash specified a deep-set hand-glued neck with his favourite round profile, along with a single-ply cream finish binding and no pickguard for the clean, sleek look that he made popular.
The guitar is the fourth signature instrument for Slash and the first to be hand-signed, making it a highly collectable package. Slash was the first Gibson Brand Ambassador and this Epiphone guitar is a homage to his continued collaboration and championship of the company.
The guitar features rock solid hardware including LockTone Tune-o-matic bridges, Deluxe machine heads, Strap Locks and non-rotating heavy-duty output jack. This hardware makes the Epiphone Slash Les Paul the ideal guitar for professional performance.
Over the past year, Epiphone has continued to celebrate its heritage with a string of artist collaboration signature models, such as the Lee Malia RD Custom Artisan Outfit and the Epiphone Joe Bonamassa 1958 "Amos" Flying-V Outfit. The latest Slash model adds to this celebration, and is highly limited at only 100 units worldwide.
These instruments are available at a very desirable price-point, giving them the unique quality of being highly collectable yet also highly usable guitars for the average gigging musician. Rather than keeping these instruments in a glass cabinet, they can be taken on stage where they belong.
For those who miss out on this collectable outfit but still want to acquire the signature Slash specification, the Epiphone Ltd Ed Slash Les Paul Standard PRO, Anaconda Burst is also available.
