NAMM 2017: Roland Unveil RD-2000 Digital Piano
The RD-D2000's dual sound engines have been designed from the ground up to separately incorporate electric and acoustic piano sounds, delivering the most authentic tones ever. Roland's V-Piano technology means the acoustic tones have incredible depth, response and natural qualities. And with a huge collection of high-quality sounds, including classic electric pianos from the '60s, '70s and '80s and the original RD-1000, the RD-2000 can perform across almost all musical genres, with two wave expansion slots for adding even more.
The PHA-50 progressive hammer-action keyboard provides superb playability and responds perfectly to individual playing styles, and the ebony/ivory key tops are smooth to the touch. Hybrid keys built with wood and molded materials are rugged and durable, and result in an unparalleled authentic grand piano touch experience which will feel familiar to all experienced pianists.
The RD-2000 is a powerhouse on stage, featuring eight encoder dials and nine sliders, bright LED indicators and eight assignable zones for sound mapping and creating combination sounds, all of which deliver precise control with instant visual feedback. The back panel hosts numerous audio, MIDI, XLR and USB ports for flexible connection options, meaning the RD-2000 can be seamlessly integrated with any DAW or performance software.
