NAMM 2011: Sennheiser Unveil MK 4 Large Diaphragm Studio Microphone
Great deals on Sennheiser Mics

Renowned microphone manufacturer Sennheiser has unveiled the MK 4 large diaphragm studio microphone, to be debuted at NAMM 2011.

The cardioid large diaphragm condenser mic, manufactured in Germany, is a first for Sennheiser.

The MK 4 is their first side address microphone featuring a large diaphragm - it has been designed with a focus on the best possible sound quality.

Sennheiser describes the sound as "powerful yet warm...direct and tight with fine treble resolution."

The nickel-coloured finish MK 4 has been developed for pro musicians in project studios, but is flexible enough to take on other environments - even on stage!

Sebastian Schmitz, product manager at Sennheiser, commented "in the development of the MK 4, we invested every euro in getting the best possible sound."

"We focused on the key elements of a good studio microphone to ensure that we can offer the MK 4 to our customers at an attractive price."

The microphone is prized for its vivid mids and detailed bass, as well as having cardioid cancellation that is relatively frequency independent.

The large 1-inch diaphragm of the MK 4 has some 24 carat gold covering, inside a sturdy metal housing and elastically mounted capsule.

Not only does the MK 4 offer superb reliability and strength in any situation, but also superb noise suppression.

The microphone has a maximum sound pressure level of 140 dB, and its self-noise of 10 dB(A) is extremely low.
