NAMM 2011: Korg KRONOS Music Workstation Announced
Leading musical synthesizer manufacturer Korg has released the long-anticipated KRONOS Music Workstation.
KRONOS is a fully-fledged music workstation and production tool that builds on the legacy of the Korg Workstation - ever since the revolutionary M1 was introduced in 1988.
Just as the M1 revolutionised music production back then, KRONOS is set to do the same in 2011.
KRONOS brings together multiple sound engines working in harmony and new interactive performance features that reflect the way musicians play. Most importantly, KRONOS provides a seemingly inexhaustible supply of breathtaking, spectacular sounds.
By uniting 9 individual synthesis engines in a single instrument, KRONOS provides some of the most stunning sounds ever heard created by a synthesizer.
KRONOS combines classic sounds from timeless instruments and new sounds that have only now become possible.
Its expansive control surface offers joysticks, sliders, knobs, switches, a ribbon controller, assignable pedal inputs, and of course our improved resolution color TouchView display.
KRONOS also features an extensive 16-track MIDI sequencer and 16-track audio sequencer as well as offering plug-in integration with most popular DAW platforms.
A variety of exclusive Korg technologies drive the synth engines to provide astounding results - VMT, CMT, Physical Modeling, Digital Synthesis, Wave Sequencing, MDS, KARMA and more!
Korg's new Smooth Sound Transition technology is designed to maintain any currently held, played, or sustaining notes and their effects, helping to prevent drop-outs from occurring when you switch sounds or change from Program mode to Combi mode.
The new Set List screen lets you instantly recall your favorite programs, combinations, or song data with a single touch, regardless of mode.
The Korg KRONOS is due to be available in March 2011 - pricing is yet to be confirmed.Posted on 13 Jan 2011 18:00 to category : Instruments News
