MUSIKMESSE 2017: Martin DST and DSTG and 0-18 Guitars

Martin's 0-18 Parlor Guitar
Martin's 0-18 Parlor Guitar
Martin have announced the launch of three brand new models at this years Musikmesse. The first of these guitars is the 0-18, an addition to the Standard Series of Martin guitars. Fitted with a scallop-braced Sitka Spruce top, this concert-sized model with mahogany back and sides has been designed specifically with a mind to encourage a classic warm acoustic tone reminiscent of classic parlor guitars. With a comparatively short-scale neck in comparison to other models, the 0-18 neck is low slung, oval and features a superior quality parallel taper to support more technical and rapid playing styles. With open-geared nickel tuners, phospor bronze strings and an ebony fingerboard, the guitar retains the iconic appearance often associated with the more seminal folk musicians of the 20th century and sees itself ideally suited to the travelling musician.

Also available are the DST and DSTG Dreadnought guitars, which have been made exclusively for sale within European territories. These particular models feature an ebony fingerboard/ bridge forward-shifted brace and bone nut saddle. Available in either satin or a full gloss finish, the guitars are also fitted with a faux tortoise coloured head plate, binding and heel cap, giving the guitar a more refined and cultivated look. Manufactured in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, the DST guitars also come with a padded gig bag and Martin Studio Performance strings.
