M.I.A's 'no gimmicks' album
M.I.A's new album will not have any gimmicks.
The singer, real name Maya Arulpragasam, claimed her third release will see her decide whether or not she is "a musician".
She said: "I want it to be, like, no gimmicks. I wanted to make something you could play that isn't like trendy just for three months, or the length of a DJ's attention span.
The 'Paper Planes' hitmaker also claimed that the album will be "really odd" and "more musical".
She said to NME that it she worked with DJ Blaqstarr, Diplo and Switch on the release.
Recently the 31-year-old singer claimed that she was often mocked when she was younger for her lack of vocal ability.
M.I.A. said: "I used to walk down the corridor singing whatever was on the radio like 'Wonderwall' or whatever, and I was so off.
