Legendary synths reborn with the Behringer TD-3 and the WASP
Discontinued in 1984, the TB-303 didn't quite catch the hearts and minds of producers. Designed to simulate the sound of real bass guitars, if you've ever heard one of these units, you know it didn't quite hit the mark. Fortunately, gear hungry and strapped for cash, underground producers found the TB-303 to be just what they needed. The computer-controlled bass line sequencer had finally found its target.

It's the synthesizer that made clubs around the world pulse with the first stirrings of techno and house and even found its way into punk through Orange Juice's hit 'Rip it Up'. The sound of the TB-303 is unmistakable. Unfortunately, thanks to the limited number of units produced, these instruments fetch a pretty hefty price tag.
Introducing the TD-3
Behringer are known for taking the best loved instruments from our musical heritage and creating affordable units that sound great - whilst also paying respect to the aesthetic and design choices that made these instruments classics in the first place. With the TD-3, they hope to create a true to form representation of the synthesizer that shaped dance music.
And there has never been a better time to get involved with Behringer's hardware synthesizers. With the release of their well received 808 clone – the TD-3 is designed to sit next to the RD-8 and provide a fantastic production experience. Allowing you to get hands on with your favorite instruments once again. Whether you want to emulate the classics for sheer enjoyment or squeeze the most from your tools to push forward the ever-progressive dance music movement. The TD-3 is shaping up to be a must have. Added to the mix are CV functionality and a powerful (and bypass-able) distortion stage. Allowing you to get the absolute most out of your bass tracks.
Yet more from Behringer
Never ones to sit on their hands, Behringer are getting ready to launch yet another reimagined classic. This time in the form of the Behringer Wasp. Based on the same analog synthesizer of the same name – this desktop unit is also Eurorack compatible and brings USB and MIDI functionality to your system. It has certainly created a real buzz around the office. It features a faithful reproduction of the original's circuitry and includes a fully analog signal path. It's ideal for creating huge bass lines and beautiful leads and 16 units can be chained for beautiful polyphony. Wasp is coming soon, with a sound that invokes the original's design and at a price point that won't sting.
