Korn's Brian Welch Gives The Downlow On Orange's Rockerverb

Korn's Brian Welch has recently shared his thought s on Orange Amplifier's Rockerverb 100 MKIII and how it fits into his current rig both live and in the studio. Having been a mainstay on the metal scene since the late 90's, Korn are often credited as being one of the main catalysts during the Nu-metal movement. A reactionary movement to the dying grunge scene, Korn helped to bring metal into the mainstream arena whilst opening up a plethora of musical opportunities for all those that were to follow.

One of the original members of the Nu-metal titans, Brian 'Head' Welch is often cited as one of the driving forces in defining the band's more nuanced tone and stylistic tendencies. Welch states that Orange has always been part of Korn's sound in some capacity or another. Outlining the fundamental involvement of Orange Amplifiers throughout the band's career, Welch stated:

"There's always been an Orange amp in every studio in which we've recorded in for the last 23 years. Every producer respects them. "

Explaining the main reason that he favours the Rockerverb 100 MKIII the , Welch went on to say that it helps him achieve a consistently smooth and distinguished tone, contributing in particular to the songs 'Falling Away From Me' and 'Here To Stay'.Welch further elaborated that its "buttery" clean tone is often used in conjunction with various effects to add more depth and clarity to the bands atmospheric passages.

Thanks to the head's versatility and all valve construction, the Rockerverb is able to reproduce an exceptionally high performance tone on a consistent basis. Driven by a single 12AT7/ECC81 valve and a custom transformer, the springer reverb circuit featured within the head features a number of upgrades from its predecessors.
