Kaiser Chiefs drummer starts record label
Kaiser Chiefs star Nick Hodgson has stepped out from behind his drum kit to set up his own record label.
Although the Leeds band will not be signing to the company themselves, Hodgson has already got one band - Hull-based rockers The Neat - on his books.
Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson has helped out by designing a logo for the label, which is called Chewing Gum, the Daily Star reports.
Hodgson is also taking the opportunity to write and produce material for The Neat.
The news was revealed by Kaiser Chiefs keyboard player Nick Baines, who confirmed that the band members are all spending a bit of time away from the group at the moment.
However, he said they do plan to reconvene later in the year, probably at the end of the summer.
The Kaiser Chiefs have enjoyed a string of hits since they broke into the big time in 2005, including I Predict a Riot, Ruby and Everyday I Love You Less and Less.Posted on 14 Jan 2010 10:59 to category : Music News
