It's Friday 13th! 7 Musician's Pre-Show Rituals
Friday 13th, known as the unluckiest day of the year for those who are superstitious and hated by those with paraskevidekatriaphobia. We've made it to the office and no black cats or smashed mirrors in site.

Whatever superstitions you have to get you through the day, here are 7 rituals musicians use to make sure they have a great performance.

Rolling Stone Keith Richards must have a shepherd's pie before each gig, and he must make the first cut, even if this means delaying the start of a gig.

Robert Plant reportedly asks for a space for him to iron his shirts before a gig, with the rest of the band requesting coffee. Quite similar to our daily routine!

Coldplay opt for a mellow group cuddle after Chris Martin has meticulously brushed his teeth.

Alice Cooper is said to eat sweets whilst watching so-bad-they're-good kung-fu films before he hits the stage.

Another sweet toothed superstition, although a bit more picky, Van Halen request M&Ms, specifically with all of the brown sweets removed.

Lamb of God's John Campbell warms up on his bass and drinks a lot of water and tops up with an energy drink 10 minutes before the show starts.

Leonard Cohen likes a Latin chant with his band on his way to the stage, all singing "Pauper sum ego, nihil habeo", meaning "I am poor, I have nothing".

Tell us your pre-performance rituals over on Facebook and Twitter!
