Eric Avery quits Jane's Addiction
Fender bass guitar player Eric Avery has announced his departure from Jane's Addiction.
Fans learned of the news via his Twitter feed earlier this week following the end of Jane's Addiction's tour dates in Australia.
"That's it," Avery posted. "With equal parts regret and relief, the Jane's Addiction experiment is at an end."
The Fender bass guitar player was one of the founding members of the band back in 1985 and rejoined the group on their reunion tour in 2008.
It is believed that the group will continue to write new material in Avery's absence, with former Guns N' Roses bass guitar player Duff McKagan set to replace him.
Last month, Jane's Addiction fansite Xiola.org reported that McKagan was already writing with the band and that it was "very likely" he would be joining the group as a full-time member.
Lead singer Perry Farrell stated: "We've got one great song so far called Top Dog."Posted on 3 Mar 2010 15:27 to category : Band / Celebrity News
