Drum kits readied for charity bash
Musicians are set to take their drum kits to Birmingham's National Indoor Arena this Monday for an unusual event.
Officials from Guinness World Records will be on hand at the event, which is intended to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, with hopes being raised that the current record of 553 drummers all hitting the same beat in one place can be beaten.
"This is a great innovative and exciting event," said community fundraising manager Hannah Chroston, who also thanked Richard Prince, whose mother has multiple sclerosis, for his efforts in organising the massive occasion.
Former Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr is one of many people suffering from multiple sclerosis.
The heavy metal band has been supporting the Clive Burr MS Trust and encouraging fans to donate money to the initiative, which seeks to raise funds to help research the illness.Posted on 10 Jul 2009 14:38 to category : Music News
