Brian May endorses Queen tribute band
A Queen tribute band has hailed the experience of performing in front of the band's electric guitar player Brian May.
Mercury performed at the unveiling of a memorial to Queen's late vocalist Freddie Mercury in Feltham, West London last week.
Brian May was among those to attend the event and took the opportunity to give frontman Joseph Lee Jackson his endorsement.
"He thought it was great what we were doing," Jackson commented.
Speaking to the Evening Post, he said the reaction from the crowd on the day was "fantastic".
Freddie Mercury, who died of an Aids-related illness in 1991, lived in Feltham after his family relocated to the UK from Zanzibar.
The granite pavement star is the first UK-based memorial to the singer, although a statue of him does stand in Montreux, Switzerland.
This was famously depicted on the cover of Queen's 1995 album Made In Heaven, which contains hits such as Let Me Live and Heaven For Everyone.Posted on 7 Dec 2009 16:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
