Billy Bragg advises musicians to make use of the internet
Electric guitar player Billy Bragg has said musicians should make use of the internet to connect with as many potential fans as possible.
Speaking to the South Wales Echo, the singer revealed he utilises Facebook and Twitter as much as he can, while also ensuring his personal website employs the latest technology.
"I think that if you're no longer in the mainstream press and no longer getting played on radio, there's other ways of connecting with your audience and creating a sense of community around what you do," he stated.
Bragg explained that some of his posts on Facebook will be read by hundreds of thousands of people, a larger audience than the readership of the NME.
The electric guitar player added he hopes a new generation of artists will soon be coming through offering their political opinions in a similar manner to the way he has done throughout his career.
Bragg is currently on tour and is set to play in Cardiff tomorrow night (December 14th).
He has another date lined up in London on December 16th and is due to round off 2010 by playing at Edinburgh's Concert in the Gardens on New Year's Eve.
