Best Bass Amp of 2009 Announced

Guitar and Bass Magazine have recently announced the winner of their 'Best Bass Amp' Award for 2009.
This year, the winner of this award was the AmpegMicro-VR - a miniaturized version of Ampeg's famous 1970s SVT amplifier.
Guitar and Bass Magazine praised the amp for its lows, mids and highs. "It's meaty enough, spitting out growling detail, natural-sounding highs and mids that are mucho punchy without high or low bias."
The Micro-VR is part of Ampeg's Classic series of bass amplifiers, which focuses on Ampeg's Super Valve Technology (SVT), originally pioneered in the 1960s to offer the ultimate, top-performance gear to the world's most demanding bassists.
"There's a surprising amount of boom available and bags of aggression from boosting the midrange, while the additional harmonic action from the Treble dial is natural and musical."
Perfectly summarised, Guitar and Bass Magazine's reviewer wrote that "this Ampeg rig is sheer class - and a worthy winner".
