Beatles albums should be downloaded, says McCartney
Most artists now allow fans to legally download their songs on the internet, with the notable exception of The Beatles and Led Zeppelin.
However, ex-Beatle Sir Paul has stated that he would like to give music lovers the option of downloading the Fab Four's songs, as lots of people purchase music in this way.
He blamed the ongoing delay in getting The Beatles' music on services such as iTunes on record label EMI.
A senior figure at the company this week dismissed rumours that the band's back catalogue would soon be made available online.
Ernesto Schmitt, a senior executive at the label, told the Financial Times that negotiations between Apple and EMI are ongoing, but insisted the music would not be issued in this format imminently.
However, he added that EMI is looking forward to the day when The Beatles' music is available digitally.Posted on 9 Sep 2009 16:00 to category : Music News
