Following a limited run last year, the team at Fender have renewed their partnership with Sanrio to bring back the Squier by Fender x Hello Kitty range, and we\u2019re excited to see it.<\/p>\n<p>From accessories like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gear4music.com\/Guitar-and-Bass\/product\/79F2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>cables<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gear4music.com\/Guitar-and-Bass\/product\/79GJ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>straps<\/strong><\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gear4music.com\/Guitar-and-Bass\/product\/79GH\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>fuzz pedals<\/strong><\/a>, there are plenty of options for the guitarist who wants to add a little kawaii style to their rig, but we all know that the centrepiece of the range is the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gear4music.com\/Guitar-and-Bass\/product\/79EH\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong> Hello Kitty Strat<\/strong><\/a>. Here\u2019s our verdict<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This Hello Kitty Strat is an update of the original 2007 model, now available in white instead of pink. While it\u2019s definitely more of an entry-level guitar than a pro instrument, we found that it was well built, with a light and resonant okoume body. The neck and fretboard are both maple, complete with pink dot markers that fit the Hello Kitty aesthetic perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>As you\u2019d expect, it\u2019s a bolt-on neck, and it\u2019s well done. We know that Squier put out some fantastic necks these days, and the Hello Kitty Strat has one. The narrow tall frets are beautifully polished. They feel great and lend themselves equally to comfortable chords and lead work. What more could we ask for?<\/p>\n<p>Overall, it\u2019s fair to say that the build quality on display here is enough to make the guitar a proper instrument, not just a collector\u2019s piece for Hello Kitty fans.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re consistently impressed by the quality of budget instruments, and while this guitar is a little pricier than some similar spec instruments thanks to the Hello Kitty branding, it\u2019s certainly got the quality we expect to see.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Now_for_the_big_question_%E2%80%93_how_does_it_feel_to_play\"><\/span>Now for the big question \u2013 how does it feel to play?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>In a word, fun. As we\u2019ve already mentioned, the quality of the neck and frets is very good. This is a comfortable guitar to play, with a C profile and a 9.5\u201d radius on the fretboard. How does it sound?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>This is the one area where we think Squier could, perhaps, do a little better.<\/p>\n<p>The Fender-Designed humbucker is adequate.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re playing with the gain turned up, it\u2019s pretty good, but when you move to the clean channel, the tones feel a little limited.<\/p>\n<p>You will be able to find tones you like, and changing the pickup wouldn\u2019t be a big job, but we\u2019d sooner see it come out of the box with something a little higher in output.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Who on Earth wants a Hello Kitty guitar? Who is this for?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Judging by the enduring popularity \u2013 and frankly astonishing resale prices \u2013 of the original 2007 model, as well as last year\u2019s release, a lot of people want a Hello Kitty Strat. Me, for one. It\u2019s a budget guitar, though you do pay a premium for the Hello Kitty connection, so it\u2019s probably best suited to beginners rather than pros.<\/p>\n<p>The key market is, of course, Hello Kitty fans. The rest of the guitar team and I have tested out the guitar for our <strong>Squier Hello Kitty Stratocaster review<\/strong>\u2026 so let\u2019s take a look at it.<\/p><hr \/><h3>In a hurry? Here\u2019s the quick version<\/h3><p>This Hello Kitty Strat is an update of the original 2007 model, now available in white instead of pink. With Hello Kitty\u2019s face as the pickguard, her name on the back, themed graphics on the headstock, and a branded gig bag, it\u2019s very much designed as a collector\u2019s item \u2013 but it\u2019s also a genuinely good guitar that we found great fun to play!<\/p><p>With a single pickup and volume control, it\u2019s a nice, simple instrument that we feel would make a good first guitar or a fun addition to a collection.<\/p><p>[table id=363 \/]<\/p><hr \/><h3>Squier Hello Kitty Stratocaster review<\/h3><h4><img class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-48089\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/stateless-blog-g4m-co-uk\/2025\/10\/Squier-Hello-Kitty-Stratocaster-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Squier Hello Kitty Stratocaster\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/>Materials and construction \u2013 is it any good?<\/h4><p>The short answer is yes, we think it\u2019s good! While it\u2019s definitely more of an entry-level guitar than a pro instrument, we found that it was well built, with a light and resonant okoume body. The neck and fretboard are both maple, complete with pink dot markers that fit the Hello Kitty aesthetic perfectly.<\/p><p>As you\u2019d expect, it\u2019s a bolt-on neck, and it\u2019s well done. We know that Squier put out some fantastic necks these days, and the Hello Kitty Strat has one. The narrow tall frets are beautifully polished. They feel great and lend themselves equally to comfortable chords and lead work. What more could we ask for?<\/p><p>Overall, it\u2019s fair to say that the build quality on display here is enough to make the guitar a proper instrument, not just a collector\u2019s piece for Hello Kitty fans.<\/p><p>We\u2019re consistently impressed by the quality of budget instruments, and while this guitar is a little pricier than some similar spec instruments thanks to the Hello Kitty branding, it\u2019s certainly got the quality we expect to see.<\/p><hr \/><h4>Now for the big question \u2013 how does it feel to play?<\/h4><p>In a word, fun. As we\u2019ve already mentioned, the quality of the neck and frets is very good. This is a comfortable guitar to play, with a C profile and a 9.5\u201d radius on the fretboard. That offers plenty of scope for rhythm and lead playing.<\/p><p>It\u2019s a 21-fret neck, so if you absolutely have to have the full two-octave fretboard, you may struggle, but otherwise, we think you\u2019ll be pleasantly surprised by how much fun this guitar is to play.<\/p><hr \/><h4><img class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-48091\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/stateless-blog-g4m-co-uk\/2025\/10\/Hello-Kitty-Squier-guitar-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Hello Kitty Squier guitar\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/>It feels good. It plays well. How does it sound?<\/h4><p>This is the one area where we think Squier could, perhaps, do a little better.<\/p><p>The Fender-Designed humbucker is adequate.<\/p><p>If you\u2019re playing with the gain turned up, it\u2019s pretty good, but when you move to the clean channel, the tones feel a little limited.<\/p><p>You will be able to find tones you like, and changing the pickup wouldn\u2019t be a big job, but we\u2019d sooner see it come out of the box with something a little higher in output.<\/p><hr \/><h3>Who on Earth wants a Hello Kitty guitar? Who is this for?<\/h3><p>Judging by the enduring popularity \u2013 and frankly astonishing resale prices \u2013 of the original 2007 model, as well as last year\u2019s release, a lot of people want a Hello Kitty Strat.
