Yamaha's 200 Series flutes offer student musicians a practical, inspiring instrument to learn with. This series features a number of construction techniques to assist in achieving notes pronounced with clarity. The nickel silver alloy is a classic body for student instruments due to its rugged build quality and balanced tonal production. All models, apart from the 282, feature an offset G key, which is ideal for musicians working on hand positioning. The 200 series is ideal for players wanting to inspire themselves into progressing with the flute.
Beginner Friendly Features
Drawn and curled tone holes give the flute a broad and light sound. Covered keys are easier for beginners to master and include pad cups that are covered to ensure a good seal on the tone hole. An offset G configuration makes the flute easier to play and is usually preferred by teachers for their students. A split E mechanism provides more stability and better centered intonation to the high E. A C footjoint provides a flexible, warm tone.
Featuring a double flare taper and a unique embouchure hole undercut design for excellent response and a warm rich tone, the CY headjoint helps beginners quickly learn to produce a beautiful sound. More advanced players will appreciate its even, quick response in all registers.
All key shapes and placement have been ergonomically designed for a comfortable, natural-feeling performance. Manufacturing processes have been redesigned from the ground up to achieve substantially improved precision that not only leads to greater mechanical accuracy, but also minimises the need for readjustment over time.
A#, F# and other non-fingered keys feature pointed key arms. This beautiful key design is inspired by traditional European style. Yamaha's unique screw resistance inserts allow smooth adjustments while preventing gradual losing of the screws. For easier access, the screw positioning has been changed. Footjoint alignment marks facilitate proper fitting by young players.
Yamaha is a brand trusted by millions of musicians worldwide. Their attention to detail and precision is a trait which earns the respect of students and world renowned musicians alike. A blend of leading technology and craftsmanship goes into each and every instrument. New refinements include pointed key arms, contributing to elegant visual appeal, and a completely revised key parts manufacturing process that significantly enhances overall precision.
