The flutes construction
Traditionally constructed flutes often suffer a lot of wear and tear issues. But to prevent this, Pearl has created a one-piece core-bar. Designing a rod which can extend from the high C through to the king post, Pearl have inevitably improved the reliability and stability of weaker areas of the flute, also improving the comfort of action for all players. The keywork is built upon the patented pinless construction, to help eliminate many of the problems associated with traditional flute manufacturing. This works by reducing the areas affected by humidity and temperature change. The additional bridge mechanisms provide added strength to the entire construction and enable an easy and unique playing experience for all.
Flute design mechanisms
Every Pearl flute is meticulously designed with a patented pinless construction. This resolves many of the mechanical problems of a traditional flute. So now, the lack of protruding needles means that the flute will not snag your clothing. More than that, Pearl have now added a bridge mechanism, which strengthens the entire performance of the flute. To prevent entry of perspiration into the mechanism, Pearl has inserted socket-head screws from the underside of the keywork.
The split E mechanism allows you to play the difficult top E - typically a weak sounding and unreliable note, with far greater ease and consistency. With these new developments, you can trust Pearl to deliver the most superior sound and performance. Revolutionising the flute playing experience, Pearl have maintained their commitment to producing woodwind instruments of the highest quality. With tonal precision, flexible articulation, and an incredible sound projecting sound. Pearl have set standards in the industry.

The flute features an extended "B" footjoint, which allows the instrument to play notes down to a low B, a semitone below the lowest note of the standard "C" footjoint. As well as improving the instrument's range, the longer tube adds a little extra resistance as you play, providing the flute with a darker, more mellow tone.
