C Clarinets

C Clarinets have enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, especially by beginner clarinet players. The idea is that they are slightly smaller than a standard clarinet and also there is no need to worry about transposition. The C clarinet has also become more popular for playing Klezmer music. Originally, C clarinets were commonplace in an orchestra, notably in the time of Mozart and Haydn but were gradually phased out as clarinetists often had to swap between Bb, A and C clarinets.
