Youngster passes on drumming skills
It's all the more astonishing as Jack McCrae is only 12-years-old – he was only seven when he got behind a drum kit for the first time, reported the Marlborough Express.
After learning the basics, the precocious youngster set about mastering the instrument himself.
Putting in some serious hours, where he worked overtime to get to grips with the many complex styles and arrangements that can be performed on a drum kit, he set about helping others.
He has also shown flair as a music teacher, coming up with innovative ways to make it easier for his students to understand.
For example, he writes symbols to help other youngsters understand which part of a drum kit to hit.
"I write them down in order for them to remember. If they want to practise, they can look at that and play it," he told the news provider.
He's also not shy about dishing out homework for the $5 (approximately Â£3.22) per half hour sessions.
"They need to practice and search for new, professional sound," he explained.
Pearl recently announced it had developed a new device that allows drummers to hear low frequency sounds with greater clarity.
