Yes guitarist still using Gibson ES-175

Steve Howe has continued to showcase his talents with Gibson guitars.

Yes electric guitarist Steve Howe has used Gibson instruments to great effect throughout his career.

The ES-175 has been the signature model for many of his years as a member of the group and in 2002 he was honoured with his own specially-created version of it.

According to the Gibson Lifestyle's blog, Howe's "history as a performer vindicates his perspective" and the man's excellence can be seen on tracks such as Roundabout, Awaken, The Revealing Science of God and Starship Trooper.

The guitar was the feature from the legendary makers to feature a Florentine cutaway beneath the neck, which allowed musicians to get easy access to the 20 frets.

However, it is not the only Gibson musical instrument he has used over the years, also utilising Les Paul Standards, Les Paul Juniors and the ES-335.

Progressive rock band Yes have been together since the 60s, while Howe has regularly been praised for his work on the fret board.

"Even while playing licks and lines it would normally take three hot players to cover, Howe seemingly never breaks a sweat or steps too far into the spotlight," the news provider observed.
