Yamaha's $1m Elton John piano unveiled
It is now evident as to why his show is entitled the Million Dollar Piano.
The instrument was created in shrouds of secrecy with meticulous craftsmanship over a four-year period.
It's fair to say it is exceptional in every way and future audiences will be eager to see how the sound resonates live.
The global megastar's piano even has a name of its own – Blossom, which is named after Blossom Dearie.
Showing that age hasn't dampened his dry British humour, Elton said: "It has a spin cycle washer in the back, a microwave and an aquarium. The only thing it's missing [is] a barbecue."
Elton, who was knighted in 1998, is famous for hits like Rocket Man, Your Song, Candle in the Wind, Can You Feel The Love Tonight and Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word.
He has sold more than 250 million records across the world.
