[Yamaha](http://www.gear4music.com/Yamaha.html) has teamed up with a group of students based at the Design Products Department of the Royal College of Art (RCA) to work on a design project as the music corporation looks to take the brand further into the future. The project, which is entitled Resonance, is aiming to develop new ideas, concepts and [music instruments](http://www.gear4music.com) that will lead to a greater sense of intimacy between musicians and audiences during live performances. A statement read: "Yamaha has always thought that musical instruments are not only things that stimulate the musician, but also devices that encourage the audience members themselves to participate in the performance. We will reveal how this can be achieved." The efforts of all involved have already led to some interesting developments, many of which will get their official premier during London Design Week. These concepts will be open to the public from September 17th until 24th at Yamaha Music London, Chappell of Bond Street in Soho. One exhibit called Music Within "visually extends" an [acoustic guitar](http://www.gear4music.com/Acoustic_Guitars.html) out into the performance space so that the audience members can literally see inside of the instrument as it is being performed during a show. A unicyclist guitar player was told he couldn't be part of a TV talent show because of health and safety issues, reported Norwich Evening News 24.
