Yamaha overhauls APX and CPX guitar ranges
A number of the guitars have been altered with new looks and finishes, while different pickups and preamps have also been added to some of the models, including the CPX700II and the APX500II.
The Yamaha APX range was originally introduced by the company back in 1987, with the company aiming to create the "ultimate performance electro-acoustic guitar".
It was followed up by the larger-bodied CPX series, which gave musicians a fuller unplugged tone, as well as a new look and voice to make use of.
In the two decades that have passed, the ranges have been among the most sought-after products in the electro-acoustic guitar market.
"For 2011, the APX and CPX ranges get a full overhaul with new electronics and updated cosmetics while remaining true to the original design brief - an acoustic guitar that's born to be on stage," a spokesman for Yamaha explained.
Yamaha began making musical instruments back in the 19th century and has gone on to become one of the world's most successful companies in this field, operating manufacturing facilities in 15 different countries.
