Musical instrument manufacturer Yamaha has launched new remote tools for use with its KX Series USB Keyboard Studio.
KX Remote Tools, which can be downloaded via the Yamaha Synth website, is made up of KX Extension and KX Editor.
The former allows KX keyboards to be used with the Cubase 4 and Cubase 5 series of music production software, while the latter enables users to set up and edit control templates for virtual instruments, making them easier to control via the keyboard.
Yamaha's Japanese software team put the new package together following Cubase 5's release, aiming to make the KX Series compatible with the new program as well as Windows Vista.
The company claimed that "the KX together with the bundled software package is constantly saving you time and effort as you go about composing and performing music with your computer".
Yamaha has made several major software releases over the past few months, most recently launching the free VST3 Editor for MOTIF XS series.
