Yamaha Pacifica guitars donated to injured soldiers
Posted on 16 Jul 2010 16:11 to category : Instruments News

Yamaha Pacifica electric guitars have been provided to injured soldiers who are recovering in Edinburgh.
Practice amplifiers have also been handed over to those recuperating at the British Army's Personnel Recovery Centre in the Scottish capital.
The aim of the donation is to encourage the soldiers to pick up a musical instrument and boost their self-confidence, as well as to have fun.
Fraser Dowling, a music graduate and second-in-command at the centre, said: "This donation has truly enhanced our ability to assist in the recovery of the wounded, injured and sick by providing guitar lessons as a social activity."
The sessions with the Yamaha Pacificas have already proved such a success that more lessons are being planned at the facility to respond to demand.
Earlier this year, Yamaha lent its support to the Childline Rocks! Initiative by providing free music lessons in exchange for a donation to the non-profit organisation, which runs a helpline for children in distress to call.
