Wiley's 'sickening' song release Wiley's 'sickening' song release

Wiley gave away his songs for free because they were making him "feel sick".
The British grime rapper - who shocked his record label and fans alike by releasing 203 songs prepared for upcoming album 'The Elusive' free of charge on the internet last Thursday (08.07.10) - admits he shouldn't have taken such drastic action, but was fed up of the tunes "sitting on hard drives".
He explained: "It shouldn't have come to this. I didn't want to do it - but I think it might just have been a good idea. I just need people in England to listen to me. I need people to embrace me, otherwise I'm just in my own little world going mad. And people who I want to hear me can't hear me.
"I've got all this music sitting on hard drives, and in the end it started to make me feel sick."
However, the hip hop legend - who shot to fame with hit single 'Wearing My Rolex' in May 2008 - revealed the track giveaway was just the beginning.
He told The Guardian newspaper: "I thought, let me give it away, and then move on to make the greatest music I've ever made. I just had to get this out from under me, then start again from scratch.
"The Zip Files are just the foundation."
