Hip-Hop's High-Earners
Take a look at Hip-Hop's highest-earning artists this year. The list was calculated by Forbes Magazine, who took earnings from the rapper's other sources of income such as merchandise and sponsorship deals, too.

The top 10 earners made 15 million dollars more than the top 10 highest-paid DJs this year.

For the first time, Diddy made it to the top of the Forbes list with a 50 million dollar income from his record label, clothing line and drinks brand.

One half of music's most powerful couple, Jay Z comes second, earning $43 million this year thanks to live shows and takes second place despite the realease of Magna Carta... Holy Grail occuring after Forbes' rich list cutoff point.

Dr. Dre was prescribed $40 million this year, putting him in 3rd place due to sales of headphones. He's said to have plans for a music streaming service in the pipeline.

The only female on the list, Nicki Minaj's relentless touring is paying off, adding to her $29 million total from steady music sales and endorsement deals.

Birdman lands 5th place thanks to his Cash Money record label, which looks after Minaj, Lil Wayne (who took 7th place) and Drake (missing out on the top 10 at 11th).

Not quite making it into the top 5, Kanye West's highly-anticipated album Yeezus also arrived after the list was calculated. Had this occurred in the time, Forbes are sure he will be closer to the top in time for next year's list.

Lil Wayne has stayed out of the limelight of late, but this hasn't stopped him acheiving 7th place with $16 million in earnings from his new album, clothing line and Young Money label. The distinctive rapper comes just ahead of Wiz Khalifa, who's coined $14 million by playing over 75 shows this year.

Ludacris is in 9th place thanks to an acting stint and headphones deal, whereas Pitbull has claim 10th place, buoying up his fortune with collaborative deals in the entertainment and drinks industry.

As for the best of the rest, Drake, Snoop Lion and Eminem take the next three places, and we see Kendrick Lamar and Pharrell Williams tied in 14th place with recent AIM Award winners Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
