Weekend Wogan musical director uses Yamaha Clavinova
Posted on 9 Jul 2010 16:10 to category : Instruments News

The musical director of BBC show Weekend Wogan has performed a cover of his theme tune for the programme with a Yamaha Clavinova.
According to the musical instrument manufacturer's website, Elio Pace visited the Yamaha head office during the week to treat staff to a rendition of his What A Day composition "backed by the big band sound of a Yamaha CVP-509 Clavinova".
Pace's track was picked up by Terry Wogan for his former breakfast show and the broadcaster's enjoyment of the piece led to the pianist's appointment as musical director.
The programme is broadcast via the BBC Digital Red Button service and has been watched by more than five million viewers so far.
Pace has accompanied the likes of Craig David, Katie Melua and Mika during Weekend Wogan's run so far.
Earlier this year, readers of German music magazine Tastenwelt named the Yamaha Clavinova CLP-380 as the best home piano on the market.
