Velvet Revolver auditioning for new singer, Slash reveals
Electric guitar legend Slash has revealed his band Velvet Revolver are conducting auditions as they attempt to find a new lead singer. The group has been without a frontman since the departure of Scott Weiland back in 2008.
Slash told his Twitter followers that auditions are going to be taking place this week and the results promise to be very interesting, reports NME. Velvet Revolver have a history of trouble in finding lead singers, taking two years after forming before originally settling on Weiland.
Earlier this month, a Gibson Les Paul electric guitar signed by Slash was auctioned off for a US charity. The instrument went for $3,285 (£2,082) after a total of 15 bids were entered for it, with the proceeds set to be donated to the MusiCares Foundation.
The non-profit body exists to provide assistance to musicians during times of need, whether they are going through medical, financial or personal problems.
