Vampire Weekend star composes score for new film
Vampire Weekend's guitarist and keyboard player Rostam Batmanglij has written the soundtrack to a new film.
The musician has composed the score for Sound Of My Voice, which is the first feature film to be directed by his brother Zal Batmanglij, who also co-wrote the movie, reports NME.
Its plot focuses on a couple who join a cult in California and stars Brit Marling and Christopher Denham in the lead roles.
The result of the work of the two brothers is to be revealed later this month, when the motion picture makes its debut at the Sundance Film Festival.
It is not yet been revealed whether the soundtrack from the Vampire Weekend star will be released separately when the film is given its general release.
Batmanglij has recently been with the band as they toured the UK and Ireland earlier this winter following a series of dates that took place in Asia.
The indie group started their run of gigs in Blackpool on November 25th, going on to play shows in Edinburgh, Sheffield, Wolverhampton, Brighton and London.
In early December, they played in Dublin as the support act for Arcade Fire.
