Unsigned bands in demand in Manchester and London
Posted on 26 Nov 2009 19:08 to category : Band / Celebrity News

An unsigned band are to be given the opportunity to showcase their guitar playing skills by opening for Snow Patrol at an arena gig in Manchester.
The Northern Irish guitar band are set to top the bill at the 2009 Versus Cancer charity gig at the MEN Arena on December 12th, with Happy Mondays and James among the other acts set to appear.
Organisers of the event, who include former Smiths bass guitar player Andy Rourke, are running a competition to find an unsigned band to open the show.
Bands who want to emulate The Scratch, the unsigned group who opened for a line-up which included Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller and Ian Brown at 2007's Versus Cancer show, need to send a demo in mp 3 format or a link to songs on their MySpace page to the gig's organisers to be in with a chance of being selected.
Unsigned bands will also have the chance to show off their songwriting and guitar playing skills in London in May 2010, as the organisers of the City Showcase event are looking for new talent to perform at 25 venues across the capital.
