U2 'working on three new albums'
U2 frontman Bono has revealed that the band is working on three new studio albums.
Speaking in an interview with The Age, Bono said the first record, which is being produced by Danger Mouse (also known as Brian Burton), is scheduled to be released early next year by the electric guitar band.
The second club-oriented album will feature a roster of top names in contemporary music, such as dance music producer David Guetta, , Black Eyed Peas rap artist Will.I.Am and RedOne, who has worked with Lady Gaga.
The third album is still in an embryonic stage and will be based on the 20 songs written for the upcoming Spiderman musical by Bono and electric guitar player The Edge.
"We haven't convinced the rest of the band to do that yet," Bono said. "Larry (Mullen) definitely has a raised eyebrow."
The Irish rock superstar recently suffered a slipped disc in his back, which punctured a ligament and broke in two pieces.
U2's stadium show U2360 is scheduled to arrive in Australia in early December following stints in South Africa, the US and Rome.
