Irish rockers U2 have been confirmed as the headlining act for Friday night at Glastonbury in 2010.
Lead singer Bono, drummer Larry Mullen Jr and bass guitar player Adam Clayton will be taking to the famous Pyramid Stage at the legendary Somerset festival.
They will of course be joined by electric guitar player The Edge, who has used a wide variety of instruments in the course of his illustrious career with U2, including a Gibson Explorer and an iconic Fender Stratocaster.
Fans who attend the festival will be treated to the musician's distinctive use of delay effects. A favourite part of his gig set-up is the Electro-Harmonix Memory Man pedal.
Michael Eavis, organiser of the event, commented: "The 26-year-old rumour has finally come true. At last, the biggest band in the world are going to play the best festival in the world."
He added that "nothing could be better" for Glastonbury's 40th anniversary party.
