Organisers of Remembrance Day Parades are searching for trumpet or bugle players to take part in the events taking place across the country.

Anyone wanting to lend their talents to the parade and church service in Staffordshire , which will take place on Sunday November 13th, would need to be able to play the Last Post and Reveille on the music instrument, reports the BBC.

Event organisers in Selby in Yorkshire are also on the hunt for a trumpet player to play the Last Post and announce the start of the traditional two minutes silence.

Speaking to the Selby Times, St Mary’s Church warden Susan Sellers said: “At a recent open day, village residents put forward suggestions for things they wanted in their community.

“A procession on Remembrance Day came up from a number of people and we thought it would be great to do something that brought together more of the community – and not just members of the church.”

The Last Post is a traditional bugle call within the British military, used to commemorate someone who has been killed.

It is also used to signal the end of the day in army camps, a custom which dates back to the 17th century.
