Posted on 19 Jul 2010 20:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News

A charity single commemorating the life of drummer Stuart Cable is being released by his former band Killing For Company.
The group are to release the track, Former Mining Town, on July 25th, with the money raised being split between the Teenage Cancer Trust and Ty Hafan Hospice, according to Wales Online.
"To honour the life's work of this talented and giving individual, we have decided to release this single dedicated to his memory," Killing For Company's lead singer Greg Jones told the publication.
An active fundraiser himself, Cable has completed a 50-mile Welsh Cycle Challenge days before his death in June.
Cable had first achieved fame as the drum player with the Welsh band Stereophonics, achieving chart success with hits like The Bartender and the Thief and Have A Nice Day.
His funeral last month was attended by thousands of mourners, including Stereophonics vocalist Kelly Jones, who Cable had fallen out with prior to leaving the band.
