Thom Yorke announces solo show
Electric guitar player and Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has announced a solo show in Cambridge.
He will be performing at the town's Corn Exchange venue on February 25th, with the money going towards the Green Party.
Writing on Radiohead's Dead Air Space blog, Yorke said he was hoping to help his friend Tony Juniper, who is standing for parliament as a Green Party candidate in the next general election.
"Normally I wouldn't get involved in politics like this ... but lets face it ... it ain't Labour or the Tories is it?," the electric guitar player said.
The support act for the gig will be local musician Pete Um.
Last month, Radiohead performed a charity concert in aid of the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.
Tickets to the Los Angeles gig were sold via an online auction raising around £350,000 for the relief effort in the country.Posted on 11 Feb 2010 09:28 to category : Band / Celebrity News
