Think before you buy, budding guitarists told

Would-be musicians should think about what type of music they want to play before choosing an electric guitar.
"Kids should … think hard and long about the kind of music they'll be playing on their guitars before investing their parents' money on these instruments," he remarked.
Mr Tandukar gave the example of people looking to buy arch-top instruments similar to those used by Slash in order to play death metal.
He advised consumers to focus on buying the instruments that will deliver the best sound for what they want and to avoid putting sole emphasis on the guitar's shape.
Ibanez and BC Rich are two of the most popular guitar brands for those looking to play metal music. The latter has Kerry King of Slayer among its signature artists.
