The legendary singer-songwriter played in the aptly titled 'legends slot'.
True to his grand status in the music business, Paul Simon made his first ever Glastonbury Festival performance in the afternoon 'legends' slot on the pyramid stage.
It's a slot that has seen some of the greatest musicians of the 20th century woo the audience with their charm and music.
This has included The Beach Boys' Brian Wilson, Neil Diamond and the late country and blues star Johnny Cash.
With a sizeable mahogany electric guitar cradled in his arms, Simon launched into a set that featured some of his best solo hits.
This included You Can Call Me Al', The Boy in the Bubble, Slip Slidin' Away and 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.
He also played three songs from his most recent album So Beautiful or So What.
It was a very chilled out affair, especially as Simon was nursing a sore throat.
The singer told the audience: "I've got a throat infection, so if my voice isn't up to scratch, that's the reason why. I should be sloshing around in the mud with you guys."
Some fans were a little disappointed not to hear any Simon & Garfunkel hits.
