The X Factor is back with a bang

Hit music show The X Factor has returned to our screens with a new line-up of judges.

The X Factor has kicked off its return with a dynamic new line-up of judges who will be putting their forthright opinions across on the talents of thousands of wannabe music stars.

Louis Walsh is the only remaining judge from the inaugural series of the music talent show, which launched back in 2004.

The new judges include Gary Barlow from the massive boyband Take That, Kelly Rowland, who used to be part of Destiny's Child, and the very opinionated Tulisa Contostavlos from N-Dubz.

The other original members, which included Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne, have subsequently moved onto new projects, whereas Danni Minogue and Cheryl Cole, who came in later, left amid controversy.

Clearly the public appetite for the hit TV show is as strong as ever with the opening show attracting 10.5 million viewers.

Speaking from the South of France, Simon Cowell said: "I'm thrilled with the numbers. The new judging team are doing a brilliant job and the show feels even better this year."

It has already attracted some controversy with some of the auditioning members of the public swearing at the judges, one showing his bottom and another boasting of his sexual antics.

Already people are hedging their bets on Janet Devlin, a 16-year-old singer from Northern Ireland, who wowed judges with her unique version of Elton John's Your Song.
