The Strokes, Muse and My Chemical Romance set for Reading and Leeds
The headline acts for Reading and Leeds have been announced, with indie stars The Strokes, electric guitar band Muse and rockers My Chemical Romance set to top the bill.
A host of other acts have also been confirmed to appear on the main stage at the dual-site event, with Elbow, Pulp, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Interpol, Madness, The Offspring and The National all booked to play sets.
The NME/Radio 1 stage is to see the likes of Beady Eye, White Lies, Jane's Addiction, Crystal Castles, The Streets and 2manydjs over the course of the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Meanwhile, the Festival Republic Stage will be headlined by Peter Doherty, The Horrors and The Midnight Beast.
Matt Bellamy, the frontman and electric guitar player in Muse, told NME that fans can expect to hear the band playing songs from their Origin of Symmetry album in order to mark its tenth anniversary.
"It'll be like coming full circle - we've gone off on one a little bit and now it feels like the right time to pull it back and remind ourselves of what we were doing ten years ago," he explained.
