Electric guitar band The Libertines have reformed in order to play the Reading and Leeds Festival this summer.
The band, who made their name with debut album Up The Bracket, are one of the main stage headliners at the event and will play just before Arcade Fire on the Friday night at Leeds (August 27th 2010) and the Saturday night at Reading.
Electric guitar player Carl Barat told NME that he was looking forward to the gigs and promised fans that they will be hearing much of the group's back catalogue.
"We're reforming the band to play the songs that people want to hear," he said.
"People want to hear them, so we're going to give them a run."
Other headliners for the festival include Guns N' Roses, Blink 182, Queens of the Stone Age and Weezer.
A host of other acts were also announced for the festival, with the likes of Frank Turner, The Cribs, Biffy Clyro and Limp Bizkit all set to appear.
